Workflows automate actions based on events in your API landscape. Create rules that trigger notifications, create tickets, or export data when specific conditions are met.

## How Workflows Work

Workflows follow a simple pattern: **WHEN** an event occurs, **IF** conditions are met, **THEN** perform an action. You can also throttle actions to batch multiple events together.

- **[Triggers](<https://docs.escape.tech/documentation/automate/workflows/triggers/index.md>)** - Events that start workflows
- **[Conditions](<https://docs.escape.tech/documentation/automate/workflows/conditions/index.md>)** - Filters that determine when actions run
- **[Actions](<https://docs.escape.tech/documentation/automate/workflows/actions/index.md>)** - What the workflow does (notifications, exports)
- **[Throttling](<https://docs.escape.tech/documentation/automate/workflows/throttling/index.md>)** - Batching multiple events together
- **[Management](<https://docs.escape.tech/documentation/automate/workflows/management/index.md>)** - Creating, editing, and monitoring workflows

## Quick Start

1. Go to **Workflows** → **Create**
2. Name your workflow
3. Select a [trigger](<https://docs.escape.tech/documentation/automate/workflows/triggers/index.md>) event
4. Configure [filters](<https://docs.escape.tech/documentation/automate/workflows/conditions/index.md>) (if applicable)
5. Add one or more [actions](<https://docs.escape.tech/documentation/automate/workflows/actions/index.md>)
6. Set [throttling](<https://docs.escape.tech/documentation/automate/workflows/throttling/index.md>) (optional)
7. Save the workflow
