🌳 Identify commits

Escape allows you to identify the commits on which a security scan was run. This is useful for tracking the evolution of your application's security posture over time.

When running a security scan from within a CI environment, Escape will save the commit SHA identification attached to the job, as well as the Git reference name and the committer email attached to this SHA. As of today, the list of supported CI environments includes:

  • Github Actions: Nothing to do, Github actions provides the commit-related data, and we catch it.
  • Gitlab CI: Nothing to do, Gitlab CI provides the commit-related data, and we catch it.
  • Bitbucket Pipelines: Nothing to do, Bitbucket provides the commit-related data, and we catch it.
  • CircleCI: Nothing to do, CircleCI provides the commit-related data, and we catch it.
  • Jenkins Pipeline: Coming soon.
  • Manual SHA identification when running Escape's CLI or directly calling the API.
